Shioi Construction Inc. is the general contractor for the Wilcox Medical Center (WMC) emergency department renovations.  The renovations include a new triage and check-in area; four new patient exam rooms; two new “fast track” exam rooms; a new nurses’ station; and refreshing the behavioral health, OB/GYN, and trauma rooms. The project is divided into four phases to ensure the emergency department remains fully operational through the renovation. Construction began in mid-October 2020, and Phase 1 was completed at the end of February.  Phase 2 of this project began in March.

Shioi’s scope of work includes new metal framed gypboard walls, bullet resistant paneling and windows at the emergency department entrance, acoustic ceiling, painting, sheet vinyl flooring, millwork, plumbing, air conditioning/ventilation, and electrical systems (including medical gas and patient headwall units).
