Shioi Construction, Inc. was the general contractor for the Kauai Community College Culinary Instructional Facility. The learning center for food preparation and cooking is captured in a modern-style facility designed as Hawaiian hut with copper roofing and rock columns. The work scope included all the concrete foundation, masonry, wood framing, indoor kitchen and storage, imu pit, bread oven, and concrete walkways. A rain garden was also assembled from rocks gathered from special places across the island. Cypress logs were shipped from Canada for this project. Our drywall division Creative Partition Systems coordinated the drywall, EFIS work, and acoustical ceiling.
