Pa'anau Village Ph 2
The Pa’anau Village Phase II affordable rental housing development took over a decade to bring to fruition. It is a vital development, providing much needed affordable workforce housing in the highly developed resort area on the South shore of Kaua'i. The Project, located southwest of the town of Koloa consists of five, two-story buildings, each with 10 residential units and configured with 1, 2, or 3 bedrooms. The 50 unit development also includes a Community Center and playground.
A long list of green elements were implemented into the project combined with sustainable design practices such as building orientation, use of solar hot water and photovoltaic systems. Amenities include premium 50 year algae resistant roof shingles, granite countertops, mirrored closet doors, Energy Star appliances and light fixtures, and ceiling fans in every room.
The Pa’anau Village Phase II project demonstrated what can be accomplished when successful partnerships are formed, where everyone works toward a common goal. This project set a standard for future affordable housing developments with its exemplary partnering efforts, budgeting practices and level of green enhancements and amenities.
