Shioi Construction was awarded a contract for the new Island Country Markets shell and tenant improvements. This is ABC Stores' "new look" outlet and includes 10,605 sf retail, 2,348 sf mezzanine/storage, and 1,721 sf of outdoor dining area. The structure is wood framed construction with exposed glulam beam trusses and an open ceiling. The tenant improvements included a new elevator, back-up generator, commercial kitchen, walk-in chillers and freezer, a full deli, and a specialty coffee and gelato station.Interior finishes feature large display casework, luxury vinyl plank flooring at the sales area, quarry tile entrances, deli and coffee with full height subway tile walls behind it. Shioi was able to expedite the delivery of many long lead materials, and the store opened to the public on schedule.
