Shioi Supports Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii

In early 2021, Shioi Construction sent a team to the Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii (BGCH) Lihue Clubhouse to provide in-kind services to upgrade their facility.  They replaced the clubhouse's ADA ramp and poured concrete on their courtyard to create a clean, safe outdoor area for the children to enjoy.  The time and materials donated toward this project is approximately $11,600.

"The BGCH's services are critical not only for the wellbeing of youth, but for the entire community," stated Conrad Murashige, Shioi Construction Board Chair. "It gave us great pleasure to help the Lihue Clubhouse so that they can continue offering high-quality, affordable programs for Kauai families."

"At a time when aloha and heroes are needed more than ever, Shioi Construction has stepped up to provide just that," said BGCH President & CEO Paddy Kauhane. "Mahalo to this incredible organization for being our heroes and providing this beautiful new concrete patio and walkway.  It not only adds to safety for our keiki and teens, it also provides additional program space when we need it so badly."

BGCH Kauai Director of Operations & Development Tina Albao added, "BGCH is a non-profit that fundraises to subsidize program costs for their members, but after fundraising throughout the year, there isn't a lot left over for facility improvements. Safety is a number one concern and contributions such as the one Shioi Construction provided are improving the safety and access for all youth who enter our clubs."

BGCH provides guidance-oriented character development programs for youth 7-17 years old. Annual membership is affordable so all youth can participate. For more info or to support their programs, visit their website.
